Initial situation
  • Projects are performed individually, methods are re-invented again and again
  • Knowledge gained in projects is barely utilized, a lot of know-how is lost 
  • There is nobody in the company who identifies potentials for development of project management in the organization, who develops measures, executes them and tracks their effectiveness

  • Determination of the necessary roles (tasks, competencies, responsibilities)
  • Definition of the flow of information between the functional organization and the PMO 
  • Development of a business plan for the implementation and execution (estimates of required resources, budgeting)
  • Coordinating the concept with selected project managers and general managers
  • Implementing the concept

 

Results
  • Tailor-made organizational concept and business plan for a PMO
  • Description of the scope of services of the PMO
  • Efficient project management organization (responsibilities/ processes) in the company
  • Common project management standards / services
